COURSE DESCRIPTION

This workshop aims to share and provide catechists tips and ideas on organizing the First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion Retreats. 

 

COURSE PURPOSE 

In sharing our FR/FHC retreat experience from the Bridging Programme in this workshop, participants will

  • Learn how to plan a 3-day retreat and its schedule.
  • Receive samples of materials used for children which include First Missal booklets, Reconciliation booklets, FHC banners, etc.
  • Receive Prayer Station materials,
  • Learn how to Preparing children for reconciliation using Maxims for Examination of Conscience.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Overall Catechetical Coordinators
  • Children’s Catechetical Coordinators
  • Level Catechetical Coordinators
  • Catechists preparing children for the sacraments
  • Volunteers assisting the catechetical teams during the retreat

NOTE

  1. Please bring along your camera/phone device to take pictures of the materials presented.
  2. A prior understanding of our archdiocesan children’s curriculum is recommended as activities and materials proposed for retreat aim to help the children further deepen their understanding of what has been offered in catechetical sessions prior to the retreat.
  3. In the event the team preparing children for the sacraments is new, please send at least a representative from your parish to explore how we can prepare the children for their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.​
